fairy is an exhibition and public program exploring ‘fairies’ and queer presences, held at the Pavilion, next to the Fitzroy Gardens' Fairies Tree. Through the month of March the project will host a space for queer making, learning and performance.
The project will think through the possibilities and limitations of thinking of queerness as a fairy - a slippery spirit, hard to pin down. What queer presences are at play in the complex site of the Fitzroy Gardens? How does queerness and desire become visible? fairy plays out material and intangible ways queers circulate, contest and collect together.
Curators: Mel Deerson and Spiros Panigirakis
The Pavilion is managed by Creative Spaces, a program of the City of Melbourne.
